The White Sox and Royals double-header.......what up with that?
I don't know, but all I know it is crazy on how they have this double head going on at night, but maybe it is best to do it, even for familes on night like this, of where it would be a school or work night, instead of say tomorrow. But I don't understand why they couldn't do a double header, like a twilight double header, of where they could have started game 1 like right now, and then air game 2 at the regular game time, of when they would have played. Maybe it is all because of the stubborn Fox, but I know that FOX here in Chicago, is not carrying either game of the double header, they have the Cubs and Braves game today. I am finding it more off an odd doubleheader, I don't know about triple header. Since they still going to be still a lot of hours between tonight's game 2, and tomorrow afternoon game. But from my understanding of it, game # 2 is supposed to start 30 minutes after game 1 ends. And that will depend on how fast they can get game #1 started and finished. So say if game #1 ends at 8:30 P.M. (central time). Then I would think that game #2 will start at 9:00 P.M. But let's say if the game ends at 9:00 P.M. (central time), then look for game #2 would start at 9:30 P.M. (central time). But either way, you might have to figure that the odds would have to be good, that game #2 might still be going on when it hits midnight (12:00 P.M.) or even later. But what are the odds that both games could be over before midnight, it is hard to say at this point. And of course the MLB would schedule these games as single games, which would be hard for them to predict what the weather will be like at game time. And normally the last game of a series, whether a 3 or a 4 game series, is done in the afternoon, which would give 1 of both teams time enough, to leave town, and go to the next city they are supposed to be in. Next of all, there should be a problem with who is airing the games. WGN TV is showing game #1 and Comcast Sports Net is showing game #2, which will create a problem, tonight's Chicago Fire game is supposed to be shown on Comcast Sports Net, and their game will take 2 hours to compete once it gets started, and they are supposed to start or get started some time after 7:30. Or play a 90 minute game, with stoppage time, which should be 3 or 4 minutes long, ad of course there is going to be an intermission. But I guess it is a good thing that they do repeat games. And to answer your other question, while you might think it would be best to sleep at the ballpark. I doubt that either team is going to do that, I bet that both the teams will wait until, when the traffic clears out from when the people that ends the game(s) leaves, and the Chicago White Sox players will head to their hotel rooms, and the Kansas City Royals players will head home. And plus the fact, I don't think the stadium will have any comfortable beds for the players to sleep in. Plus you would have to figure, they would have to sleep ion the locker rooms, and I would doubt that they would be very comfortable there.
