My daughter has a fever of 102.7?

I have been giving her medicine (alternating Tylenol and Motrin every 4 hours like the doctor said) what I forgot to ask is should I keep her under the quilt to sweat it out or keep her under a sheet to cool her. My mom says to keep her hot to sweat it out but that does not seem right to me, please help. To me it seems she should be kept as cool as possible but you know how the older generation thinks. Any help is appreciated. The fever broke earlier but now is back if that helps any.
