Word Doc file icon not showing up??!!?

You could try going into Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, and clicking on your Microsoft Office installation. Select Change and instead of removing/uninstalling the program, perform a repair on it. This should take a minute or two and Office will inspect your installation and repair things that are wrong with it, hopefully including the file ociation/icon problem you are seeing.
